While this is great, broadly speaking – one point buried in the article:
>Under an employee ownership trust, Mr Grant and his family will be financially rewarded, too. They will receive a payout for the transfer of their 100% shareholding, which will be taken out of the profits over time.
So it’s not so much that he is giving staff the company, but rather – they are buying him out.

The Entertainer and Richer Sounds are great examples of businesses being run by Christians who don’t put absolute profit ahead of everything (and everyone) else.

Excellent news – more businesses should be sold to the employees when the proprietor retires.

It’s been 3 hours since the OP but the local branch has already closed down!

I worked here like 12 years ago and the place was terrible to work.
4hr shifts so they don’t have to give you a break, 5 days a week. Told me I needed to show up 15 minutes prior to shift starting everyday unpaid to count my till, then wrote me up for only showing up 2 minutes early lmao.
Peer pressured us all to donate to charity from our pay cheques as they would match it. Crazy I agreed considering how much they paid, but everyone did.
Yelled at us for not selling enough batteries and wrapping paper. All for minimum wage which was like £6/7 at the time. Think there were usually only 2/3 staff including manager and assistant manager at all times unless it was around Christmas.
Working at sainsburys at the same time was worlds better. They wanted me to quit sains so I had more open availability for my 5 4hr shifts.
