Journalists must love it when something interesting happens in the Cotswolds, it means they can spend more time at their second homes before they have to go back to London.
I imagine this is the sort of place where the main form of protest against Vance would be knitting post box toppers in the shape of couches.
It’s a shame that whatever hotel is being forced to host that odious little prick didn’t just say “no thanks”.
If the bit about police officers going door to door and asking for details of residents as well as social media details has even the slightest chance of being true that shit needs shutting down immediately.

Seriously, whichever senior officer signed off on that needs sacking.
If I lived there I might be ok with giving details but it’d be bear minimum and there is zero chance of them getting any of my socials.
Yet a few weeks ago we had Trump show up with his circus here in Scotland for a 4 day private trip. Police and security galore and at great cost to the taxpayer too. A ring of steel around RAF Lossie too. Nobody likes him. Nobody wanted him here. Yet we foot the bill for a private visit. C**t.
I think the local police etc should not change a thing.
If JD vance feels unsafe then he should pay for security.
If people want to protest to his presence that should be an acceptable outcome. As long as the protest doesn’t lead to violence.
Hopefully the local folk are farting in his general direction……Greeting him with traditional hospitality like “F2ck off back to the shithole you come from…”
