While the next federal elections are not until 2029, and it currently seems likely that the current coalition of the CDU and the SPD will remain in place until then, several important state elections are scheduled for 2026. In some states, such as Saxony-Anhalt, it is not unlikely that the AfD will achieve an outright majority if the current polling data continues.

And if you take INSA it is 25% vs 27% CDU

There is no value in this information during this time, the votes just passed.

Russian and USA (since Trump) want it that way. They spread their right wing propaganda everywhere.

So…. we, the users, should do the same when Hungary has elections next time. We should flood the Hungarian internet with propaganda against Orban, so he will loose big time. Please help… I will tell you when it’s time to flood the zone.

That’s okay, I didn’t need a sense of peace and stability today or anything 👍

Well thats what happens when you deliberately exclude issues people been having for many years because of political correctness… I ain’t surprised at all

It’s not the first time, it already happened in April. I’m not saying it’s not concerning but I think it’s a bit alarmist to look at polls 4 years out of the federal election. Also as some others have mentioned this is cherry picked, there are multiple others polls showing CDU ahead

A victory for the AfD is bound to happen. The current government copied their immigration policies, so the AfD can claim that they were right all along. In the mean time the government is cutting social security and is focusing on trickle down economy. Also the way they are communicating is an absolute shitshow. A lot of CDU MPs were in full on disruption mode the last four years and they are not able to stop, they attack their own chancellor on a regular basis.

But i dont think the AfD will rise above 30%, the current government just gave out massive gifts for pensioners and they still account for 40% of all eligable voters.

The result of austerity and failed centric policies, like everywhere in the western world

    11. Merz is a lackey to the fascists. This was entirely predictable.

Is that the way how Union try to half the AfD? What’s wrong with them?

Why not ban this party and deport to Russia their leaders?I think it’s the best way how to deal with right wing

    14. mekolayn on

I like how when there was CDU lead there were no polls posted and you had to look them up yourself, but the moment AfD got 2% lead the poll was instantly posted

    15. Scythe_bio on

And it means nothing since there is no election in the near future.

    16. Mojo-man on

We JUST had an election! Are we going to check on the polls every week now? Feels like a good way to speedrun going insane with no tangible value 🙄

6 years of practical stagnation will do that to even the most stable democracy.

Remember the ‘stab in the back’ myth that helped the nazis rise to power in Germany after WW1? This time EU was actually stabbed in the back by their own politicians in the trade war with the US. This isn’t surprising, it’s just the beginning.

    19. Visual_Will6655 on

      That’s just too much exaggeration…
Besides Forsa… CDU got 29% in Allensbach and GMS
The rest like Verian, Forschungsgruppe Wahlen, Infratest dimap and Yougov portrait CDU at locked 27%.

The problem is that idiots have the right to vote.
The percentage of AfD equals the percentage of idiots in the country. Point!

If this is reflected in the Bundestag it’d only be possible to form a moderate government by the thinest of margins, if at all.

    21. ogremania on

And the “union” are essentially two parties CDU and CSU together.

    22. BigDee1990 on

Thanks to the CDU. Surfing on the right-wing populism wave – unsuccesfully – really strengthened the AFD.

Trump and Putin now know that they have 26% support among Germans

I wish we all had one common media of independent journalists to help us understand the world again.

Question to Germany from a Latin American. All of this just because of immigration?

    26. You have to get rid of them, right-wing nazies and fascist.
Does anyone want to repeat history. WTF

    27. Patriark on

Solution: mainstream parties needs to get real tough on immigration. Denmark did this and fringe parties had the floor swept away from them.

Just produce policy that voters want. Germany has been extremely liberal and generous with immigration. People don’t like it. If mainstream parties deny it’s a problem, they will lose votes and elections. That’s how democracy works. Pretending a problem doesn’t exist because it is unsavory is not an adult way to handle it.
