      Checked to see if the people here heard about this. Didn’t see anything so I decided to cross post the news. I’m hoping this will encourage Czechs to be more supportive of Tibet and the Republic of China (Taiwan), rather than trying to backtrack.

      If they would REALLY cut ties. But they will just keep sticking their commie nose even further into our internal affairs and will send even more spies.

      China really fucked up this Czech thing. They had the perfect opportunity served to them on a silver platter by the former Czech president Zeman. Had they 1) actually invested money the way they promised they would, 2) at least feigned some degree of respect when dealing with Czech officials and people in general, and 3) put a panda in Prague Zoo, they would have the support of the majority of people in Czechia, perhaps an overwhelming majority, and anyone arguing against Chinese government would be labelled as a hopeless idealist. But this way? Czech public opinion on China is worse than ever.

      Not smart move by Czech president Petr Pavel. It will not improve situation in Tibet. Its time for real politk, not empty gestures that impacts Czech economy.

      Czech foreign policy lies with the government, represented by the foreign minister. Them cutting ties with Pavel may look like some grand symbolic gesture, but in reality it doesn’t mean jackshit. If they truly cut diplomatic ties, they’d close their embassy.

      Full solidarity with people whose land was annexed by larger dominant force and that keep maintaining occupation by violence. Imperialism is unacceptable bullshit. ✌️

      I am conserned that czech people mentality is slowly changing into americans starting with picking less evil and continue liking this.
      Same thing when Trump wanted to meet Kim Jong un to experience what type of person Kim actually is, to know what danger he actually is and of course americans was against it, same with Putin. You just need communications, even with your worst enemy.
      It was Churchil who read Hitler book and knew exactly what kind of person Hitler is, this is same thing but instead of book, you just meet with them and keep communication, you dont have to agree what they are doing, but communication is important, especially in politics.
