You would assume that the kids don’t require the complex medicial help reguarly and the doctors have said that it would be ok to move?
In fairness if they tried to move me from south dublin to letterkenny I’d be trying everything too.

edit: to be clear as in “if the system is effective at moving people who dont need to be in expensive dublin to cheaper letterkenny”
I too would resist being moved to Letterkenny
Letterkenny hospital is not exactly some tier 2 hospital, it has the same issues as all hospitals in Ireland but offers the needs of most.
They can protest as is their right and use media to sway opinion in their direction.
But if this article reporting is as it seems to suggest, they’d be perfectly safe and well catered for in Donegal.
Offer them Finglas or Tallaght and then see if they’ll take Letterkenny.
Imagine the poor people of letterkenny having to work and pay rent, taxes and mortgages to sustain such awful third world medical services….
If the sarcasm isin’t obvious, they have no grounds to be kept in Dublin other than knowing that Dublin is better to stay in for other reasons. There is adequate transport from Donegal to Dublin…. Including flights. Refugees demanding where they’re living is not okay anymore. Be happy with everything that is being provided in the first place.. For free.

It probably won’t even be in LK. It’s got tons of Ukrainian refugees already and even out in the middle of nowhere in rural guesthouses and hotels with nothing around them. These lot will be even worse off being dumped in the arsehole of nowhere.
I know it’s better than being bombed and shot at but it’s not really likely they’ll be housed in LK at all. More likely some other rural village with no supports.
I truly feel for them. It’s an awful wrench for them but I hope the communities embrace them and their kids.
Remember a hotel was torched in Buncrana a few years ago when Syrian refugees were believed to be moving in. Donegal isn’t exempt from the racist cunts in the country.
The Irish Times headline for this story was such clickbait.

The picture for the article also shows a ruin in Gaza, implying they’d rather stay in an active war zone with their sick children than move to Donegal.
