7/20 almost mid table
My first thought was “oh that’s crazy” until I remembered there’s only 20 countries in the Eurozone, so 7 isn’t *that* bad
This article is almost entirely made up of quotes from the chair of a lobbying group.
And 7th most expensive out of 20 is fine actually.
Seventh most expensive country for bastard everything!
Show me the list where we’re the least expensive for some stuff
We are still paying off the bank bailouts with higher variable rates.
I’d love to know where we are on our savings account rates. Must be close to the bottom. We’re just handing money to our banks.
This sound great until you realise that many people are in trackers and paying fuckall in interest. The rest of us are paying through the nose.
Not a surprise. Small country. Impossible to repo and sell when mortgage isn’t paid.
Not sure where Sweden sits, but mortgage interest is tax deductible there which makes the rates you pay very beneficial. Plus, once you get to 50% LTV ratio you are not required to pay anything on the principal, so people just pay the few grand a year in interest and that’s that. Envious tbh.
