      Nice to also mention that Strokestown also benefits from a lovely park run trail and adventure centre built by the developers of the Sliabh Bawn Wind farm.

      And that same windfarm pays the local authority over €400k a year in rates which it could, if it wished to, use to support local businesses.

      Similarly that windfarm pays out almost €100k a year for 25 years to local community benefit projects, open to application by any local.

      I’m not sure how specifically relevant it is to this article, but as it talks about the things the community needs and the plan to develop Strokestown for 2040, it’s probably worth noting the tens of millions that the adjacent windfarm is pumping into local development.
