“Over 220 Activists” does not Unite make, there will need to be a lot more ordinary members making that demand before UNITE would even consider it. Cutting all links with the Labour Party and throwing your lot in with a new left wing party that will almost certainly descend into factional infighting and spit is a big step to take.
Any union that defects to Jezbollah deserves to be abandoned by it’s members

Starmer replaced the need for union money with a source of corporate money instead though, so probably not now.
This will no doubt be a cabal of SWP entryists. We’ve seen this in other unions such as UCU and in my own union Unison
The fact Corbyn didn’t just join the green party or lib dems should really tell you all you need to know about the man behind the scenes.
Wouldn’t be a stretch to say he’s profoundly narcissistic, and his own comments about the green party “not being left enough” really just cement my opinion about him.
We all know the fracturing of the left in this country is the sole reason why they can’t compete with labour or tories for a majority, if he really wanted change, he’d of formed a coalition.
He *must* know he won’t get *actual* left-wing defectors. So that really only leaves labour and central-leaning tories.
The way I see it, he’s just forming another centre-left party, which is really not what the left in this country needs.
His antics have always been funny to watch though, he contradicts his own political affiliation quite often.
