    2. YP_Schwartzy on

Fuck that. The Donbas isn’t his land to just steal. What about Crimea? Let him steal that too? Fuck that Trump, that’s not happening.

    3. hodlerhoodlum on

Sure there’s been past leaders used this play book. Pretty sure they only wanted Crimea last time too.

Maybe trump will wake up and realise what peace through strength actually means

    4. heavierthanlead on

Wow, a written promise? Well, golly Pooky, that changes things!

    5. One-Marsupial2916 on

Ahh, yes, a promise from Putin.

      Surely, this can be trusted.

/s for those living in a cave.

Like, about 6000 written documents that russia broke when they invaded?

    7. forthehundredthtime on

Putin said that he “respects the will of Donbass people that voted in referendum to join Russia”. Ukraine should do a poll/referendum in remaining Donetsk region cities – ‘whether they want to join Russia’ and invite russian observers. There’s no way even 5% will vote to join Russia, so Putin should have to “respect” that decision and stop demanding Ukraine to give up that territory. Stop the war, freeze the front lines and stop killing. The West should not lift any sanctions against Russia until Russia returns all Ukrainian territory, including Crimea and Donbass.

A written promise from Vladi vlying-my-ass-off Putin? Braaaaa, say less.

The Budapest Memorandum where Ukraine gave up nukes in return for security was in writing. Fat lot of good that did.

Good thing Putin isn’t a serial liar /s

    10. Goetterwind on

Like back in the Budapest memorandum? A Russian paper is nothing worth..

    11. AntonioClaus on

Are there many people in Ukraine who would agree with this?
Suppose there are firm security guarantees from NATO countries?

    12. ” We have peace in our time”….. that’s right mate a peice if shit roll !

    13. Dry-Marketing-6798 on

Pfffft what in actual fuck. Although it’s not surprising. When will some people wake up and realise Putin wants all of Ukraine and more…

      🙏🇺🇦🇬🇧

    14. That T thinks he can just negotiate without Ukraine is do weird

    15. kraven-more-head on

And the whole idea of war reparations? That’s just tossed right out the window now I guess… War crimes? Honestly that just became a joke. But the reparations thing and all the sanctions that are in place. All that stuff has to actually be hammered out.

He can write a promise, then whipe his ass with that paper

    17. Mors_Umbra on

So nothing, he promised nothing, because his promises are worth nothing.

    18. Luv2022Understanding on

That’s fucking hilarious! putin thinks that they’ll accept his written promise not to invade? putin could sign his written promise with his blood and seal it with his own eyeball and I’d laugh at him if he thought I’d accept it!

    19. Check the back of the document…he’s drawn some fingers crossed.

    20. CommitteeStatus on

Promises don’t mean shit to dictators. The only way to stop Putin is with firepower.

    21. fire_n_the_hole on

To what authority does the US President have over the war in Ukraine?

Its not his land. Not under his authority and he has withdrawn from sending support.

The only ones at this point who have a stake in the war is Ukraine and the EU. They are seemingly fine with handing out a spanking to Putin.

The US President will do anything to undermine any Ukraine war advances or EU led peace deals because it has nothing to do with him.

    22. JoopahTroopah on

Ukraine already had that. Russian perfidy proved it to not be worth the paper it was written on.

    23. Valentiaga_97 on

Any Putin offer is basically worthless 👀 he will just come back as he wants

    24. 375InStroke on

Lol, just like Russia promised not to invade the first time, then the second, or…

    25. Russia already signed a written promise acknowledging Ukraine’s borders and soverignty in 1991.

Yeah, let’s go with that one.

    26. dlafferty on

Oh, a “written promise”, well that changes everything /s

      TACO man at it again.

    27. Iliketurqouise on

I’m a little confused by this news..

Don’t get me wrong – I’m supporting Ukraine to not hand over any land at all.
But is Putin “just” asking for Donbas? What about Crimea, then?

      Edit – spelling.

    28. shwarma_heaven on

You mean the guys who promised to not invade Ukraine after Ukraine have up their nuclear weapons back in 1994. Or the guys who declared a sovereign state in 2003. Or the guys who manipulated elections, and installed a puppet government in the 2000s. Or the guys who staged incursions and false flag attacks in the 2010s to justify further incursions. And then invaded Crimea in 2014 to “rescue the Russian speaking residents and to stop corruption.” And then promised they would not go any further to avoid more sanctions. And then invaded again in 2022, to “stop NATO aggression”…..

I mean, I’m usually a really good judge of character, and I got a good feeling about *this* time… We should totally trust them.

    29. Key-Lie-364 on

Remember why Putin said he’d be satisfied with Crimea?

Even Trump sees appeasement isn’t working now.

Why the the hell does the US think it can speak for Ukriane?
