Trump’s level of incompetence has been laid bare with the Alaska summit – no person with a single functioning fecking braincell would think ceding the Donbas would bring peace. Ukraine must not accept it under any circumstances. If Putin wants out before his economy collapses then only a ceasefire will do. Nothing less. The West has failed Ukraine for too long.
The Russian economy will collapse soon if, and I know that’s a big “if”, additional sanctions are imposed to close the back doors that are being used to skirt the existing sanctions.
That will be quite a lot.
If Ukraine is truly able to make 10mm drones internally next year (on pace for 4mm this year) then I think the Russian numbers would ultimately be much worse, potentially even not winnable. 10mm-20mm drones annually with support of EU & USA combined makes me actually think Ukraine can win and take its territory back if it keeps fighting, even Crimea.
This also assumes that 3:1 casualties, Russian to Ukrainian is true as well.
Ukraine should never give up this land. I believe they can turn it via mass drone production (80%+ casualties currently coming via drone) and they are proving it now in real time.
