They do not even have a basis for negotiations! Trump is just trying to force a surrender. Who ever imagined this guy could negotiate a deal with anyone?
Here is the thing. The European leaders who attended the white house, zelensky, and putin all have one thing in common. None of them care about the fictional p.r. world/reality that trump lives in.
All Trump cares about is the announcement, not if it actually happens or the result. This is just more ammunition for his”nobel peace prize” he is butt hurt that Obama got one and he hasnt

Im a little hesitant to believe trump typed this because he typically types in all caps.
After he was ambushed in the White House, I’m sure Zelensky is just dying to relive that wonderful experience by walking into a room where Trump and Putin can try to bully him in front of the cameras in the name of peace.
Trump has zero idea how diplomacy works, no idea about tradecraft, even just basic mind games elude him.
He is being played like a fiddle by an enemy that’s honed these skills over decades. Trump tips up and thinks everything is like a property development where quite often it is in everyone’s interest to make a deal. Global politics not so much.

The real putin?
Like in patriarchal parallel societies where woman have no say about their assets and are used as cash cows to betray, I as Selensky would think about attending such a meeting. There is no solution with persons seeking what you have and just try to find a manipulative way to whitewash what they already destroyed. The trumpish US, in no partner, nor an ally. It tries to manipulate Ukraine, giving resources and workforce (Human Resources) to Russia to defend the influence of China in Europe, while China standing behind Russia, rubbing hands. Can we as Europe once and for all set out our independence? There is no negotiation with narcissists. It‘s not working for society in an microscopic way nor in politics. If we don’t face and influence the changing dynamics we‘ll get overrun by the fractals. Money. We need money and partners otherwise I see the Ivans showing face.
