More like buying less of everything, as grocery and other prices remain high

When the billionaires sap out the economy for their own greed, EVERYONE suffers. Small businesses, the public, everyone.

      > “Eating out is one of the first things to go” when people want to cut back on spending, she said.

I don’t think most people want to, they have no choice.

      > Casual and fast-food restaurants have seen a 6% drop in customers over the three months to mid-July compared to last summer,

      From a different article

      > In the UK, it’s estimated that around 1.6 million adults (2.9% of the adult population) reported using GLP-1 receptor agonists for weight loss in the past year

Not to be cynical, but there might be other things also at play here. The 3% of clinically obese people on ozempic probably make up close to 6% of the fast food sales.

Whatever the cause – people eating less fast food is excellent for public health, the NHS, Tax and living standards.

Filling up the basket seeing the full price and walking away is a normal experience now.

      Even McDonald’s isn’t cheap anymore.

I’d like to think some of this is related to the weight loss drugs. Having used a few the idea if fast food on them is non existent

That being said, when I’m not on them my weekly food bill at Aldi is about £100. It’s silly

I think this is probably more due to significant amounts of people having healthier lifestyles.

Alcohol companies are struggling as the younger generation are just far more health conscious.

Minimum wage has risen too fast. Therefore everything is becoming unaffordable.

When I grew up, a takeaway was once a month treat (If that). I still don’t believe people buy it more than once a week.

I’ve also pretty much stopped buying drinks and any sweets. Plain water and nothing between meals as it’s too expensive

I mean fast food costs a fortune now perhaps that’s why moreso than the high grocery prices

    14. Corporate greed prices the average consumer out of the market.

“Oh no, our profits!?! We better up prices further!”

Remember when companies used to think it the terms of 1 or 2 decades not 1 or 2 quarters? Good times.

Fast food as cheap as healthy food? And no longer “ fast “?

      I’m shocked
