I guess “Coalition of the Sort Of Willing but Only in Specific Locations” just doesn’t have the same ring to it.
Whilst we at home dont have adequate housing. Our rivers are polluted and the NHS is suffering due to a lack of funding.
Starmer and the other European leaders are posturing to buy Ukraine time whilst the mad king (Trump) decides who he should support.
I don’t think any of the Euro leaders expect they’ll end up having to deploy troops and are banking on Putin either no showing the trilateral meeting with Zelenskyy or flatly rejecting any Euro/US backed security guarantee which they hope convinces Trump that Putin isn’t serious about peace.
There’s also the possibility Trump becomes totally exasperated at that point and diverts his attention elsewhere in pursuit of the Nobel Peace Prize.
Shame they can’t protect our ports and coasts first.

I sometimes wonder what would have happened if NATO had instituted a no fly zone over Ukraine as a humanitarian move to protect civilians when intelligence pointed to an invasion.
