Wouldn’t buy a Swasticar so I won’t buy Swastipower either

If it brings another option and potentially cheaper electricity I’m game

Yes, it seems a little short-sighted to give a drug addled billionaire fascist (a man who is openly seeking to foment civil war in the UK) a position of power within our national infrastructure.

With that said, I fully expect Ofgem to approve this.

Understand the sentiment, but isn’t more competition inherently good in driving down prices for consumers ?

Dude should be entirely banned from the country, never mind allowed to do business here

That when its time to wake up hard or get treated like sub citizens like they now in US got lot friends out there and the big regret is to had let Trump back to power.

I’m normally in favour of competition as it often benefits the consumer. But not this.

In 2023 Musk unilaterally decided to turn off StarLink over part of Crimea, which jeopardised a Ukrainian mission against a Russian warship. [Link here](https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2023/sep/07/elon-musk-ordered-starlink-turned-off-ukraine-offensive-biography)

This wasn’t due to a court order. This was a CEO of a private company turning off critical infrastructure in a country because he felt like it. I don’t want that CEO to be in charge of any critical infrastructure here.

What happens if in a few decades the UK engages in some military action which Musk doesn’t personally approve of? Does he turn out the lights in the UK? This is an unacceptable risk to me.

Tesla can supply energy in the UK, providing there are iron-tight rules about service interruption. I.e. if Musk deliberately interrupts power for any reason other than a UK court order, then the UK immediately nationalises Tesla Power UK’s entire infrastructure.

I don’t think we’re exactly in a position to be turning down energy suppliers. Fossil fuels are only going to get more expensive in the years to come

I have a sneaky suspicion that part of the motivation is to establish a UK based company so he can legally funnel money into British politics.
