Ciao a tutti!

you have the Aktenzeichen, you have the amount and you have the Bankverbindung. what else do you need? of course you need to pay

“Wir bitten die weiteren Hinweise ind er Anlage zu beachten” implies that there’s another page.

Do you have to pay the fine even if you’re outside the EU? Yes. If you ever plan on entering the EU again.

  3. You have the Aktenzeichen, the amount, the bank information on the bottom and even a mail-adress.

You were speeding and got a ticket. Of course you have to pay. The payment informations are in the Bottom (IBAN). Use the Aktenzeichen as a reference so they can connect the payment.

If you don’t pay, it’ll be on your record in Germany, but they can’t enforce anything in the UK. Also, the city’s Bank details are on the bottom of the page

If you have to pay i dont know. If you wanna pay, just send the money to the bank account listed below. Use the Aktenzeichen as Reference. Thats usually how you do it. But there should be another page of the document where it tell you what to do. Just translate with google lense or smth

I would, just to avoid any trouble in the future. I wouldn’t trust broken English over the phone. Get it in writing from the city of Koblenz.

Otherwise, the bank details are at the bottom. They’re looking for a bank transfer.

E: the Aktenzeichen is the reference number, memo, whatever your bank calls it. That’s really important to include.

  8. If you ever plan on entering the EU again, it is advisable to pay.

“because I reside in the United Kingdom, which isn’t part of the EU anymore I don’t have to pay anything”

Laws apply to everyone present in the country, not just citizens.
Just like there’s punishment if you steal or kill when in a foreign country, same goes for breaking any other law – speeding in this case.
Honestly, writing this, I feel like I’m explaining this concept to a person who is not old enough to drive…

  10. Would you be okay with people going 45mph in a 30mph zone in the town your kids walk around, get fined and not even pay the tiny fine?

  11. I don’t know why a policeman would say otherwise, but you certainly have to pay. I don’t know if German traffic fines are enforceable inside the UK – if there is no mechanism for that you could get away with it – but it can become a big hassle if you want to reenter Germany before it is verjährt (statute of limitations) which is 6 months, but can be increased to up to 5 years.

If you decide to pay it, you have the bank details in the letter. If you decide to pay it, it is everything you need to do so.
