Hopefully they can deploy them on some of the thames valley branch lines, even without the 200 mile range there is plenty of dwell time to top up the batteries

Will this allow all trains to go electric as they will ‘eventually’ get to an electrified track even though not every section is electrified?

This sort of thing would be good on small branch lines. Heck, if it works, it could make some branch proposals more financially viable.
