Ukraine & allies played it well.
Being betrayed sucks, but everyone seeing it helps a lot.
There will no be peace without cessation of hostilities, so how can peace be achieved when you don’t support a ceasefire to allow peaceful withdrawal of occupying forces in the first place.
There is no other true lasting solution than to make Russia compensate Ukraine for all damages and losses. €300bln per year for the next decade, return of all POWs and stolen children, and a 200km buffer zone outside of Ukraine’s 1991 borders seem like fair compensation.
Suggestion: some of these terms are negotiable at the surrender of Putin, Lavrov and/or their high level representatives for whom there is an arrest warrant by the ICC. This is up for the Russian people to discuss.
You cant negotiate it while shooting. A civilian target or another atomic bomber fleet surprise would derail them. Making any progress moot. Actually it would make surprise destruction during the talks a normalised negotiation tactic. Frankly this us caputilating on any kind agency in these talks. 🤦♂️
Yeah we want permanent peace, but in the meantime we still want to bomb as many civillians as we can and take as much ground as we can )))
The only way to have meaningful peace-talks with putin would be through strength. Agent Orange doesn’t understand that.

Lol how times have changed. Months ago when Trump first proposed a ceasefire, many people on this sub and Europe main sub was against it because they say it “Ceasefire benefits Russia because it gives Russia time to regroup and launch another attack on Ukraine later.”
Now, the reaction is the opposite.

Russia doesn’t make peace. It makes time to regroup.
