If only we could all have friends like Sean. Cowboys Ted. Cowboys:
“The presidential hopeful wouldn’t say if the property’s ownership by a Fine Gael ex-minister of state influenced the decision to base his office in Clonmel – 150 kilometres from his county Kerry home. He did however say he had been looking for “a more central location”.
Kelly, it is estimated, has claimed more than €440,000 in expenses from the European Parliament over the past eight years for the cost of running the Clonmel office. “
Nice wee earner for his FG colleague.

What is the going office rent in Clonmel? Without this information this is a non-story as renting an office from a party colleague is not illegal….

They are all at it.
Isn’t that why Mairead McGuinness dropped out. She may have a health issue but the Ditch ran a very similar story on her. I would be fairly confident there was more to come so she stood aside.

55,000 a year for an office in Clonmel.

I want to preface this by saying I’m not a sean Kelly fan but the fact he knows the landlord isn’t exactly a sizzling story. I assume the European allowance isn’t simply for rent but also for costs of running an office. The ditch are very hit and miss their big stories. Some they’ve done are good but some are just not really anything. I think this is more leaning into the latter territory

Typical Ditch nonsense they have taken publicly available information and are misreporting it to seem scandalous.
>The general allowance is paid to cover the costs involved in running a constituency office including rent, management and maintenance costs, office supplies and documentation, telephone and postal charges, furniture, and the purchase, operation and maintenance of computers, software and other equipment. The allowance is also used to cover the costs relating to the organisation of events, conferences, seminars, exhibitions and public meetings. I rent an office at 43a Upper Gladstone Street, Clonmel, Co. Tipperary. The allowance is € 4,563 per month (as of 2020).
Are people we work with supposed to let us have their properties for free?

No wonder FG is so anti-Ditch when it keeps exposing their greediness!

The Ditch would want to publish an actual scandal if they want to salvage their reputation with everyone but the open-mouthed.
If this is the best they can come up with then we have one of the least corrupt governments in the world. If we are to believe that corruption is rampant then why publish this milquetoast shite?
