Could be incredible if designed well.
Why Hamilton?
Edit: Many thanks all for clarifying! Once I posted, it crossed my mind that it could have been the Quartians guy with the formula on the bridge. Wasn’t in a position to confirm his name.
You’ll be Ballyboggers and you’ll like it
Why not just call it Hamilton ?
Honestly sounds good to me, Ballyboggan sounds like a paddywhackery name unfortunately.
I assume Hamilton is a reference to the physicist which is a nice touch
Like that part of Darndale they started calling “newtown”
That’ll trick them.
A nice gesture. We do a much better job recognising our artists than our scientists or engineers.
Tbh I am not a fan of the new name, just sounds like a suburb. I guess Ballyboggan/Baile Bhogáin(Town of the bog/marshy ground) does not sound classy enough for some but it is also shame to lose the old names for areas because of that.
Hamilton 🤣🤣 we’re not English, just call it Baile Bhogáin
Ballyboggan clearly sounds too like Ballybough, I’d say
Sounds too rural I guess.
To the music of “Alexander Hamilton”
Verse 1
(Spoken-rap style)
In Cabra’s corner stands a crossing on the canal, where quaternions came alive under Hamilton’s hand. Broombridge Hamilton grew up by the Royal Canal banks, where Midland Great Western rails ran. The station rose in nineteen-ninety, opened up new routes, and a tram came in two-thousand-seventeen, linking green lines to the heart of the town. He’s not writing constitution, but he’s raising transit’s name. Broombridge Hamilton.
That could be the suburb’s new claim.
Chorus
Broombridge Hamilton, born in Dublin 7, rails and trams connect you to the city’s heart. From Royal Canal to LUAS lines he’s re-named a landmark, tied to science and to transit. Broombridge Hamilton, new name for a place with history, bridging tracks and the future, right from Cabra’s door.
Verse 2
In Suburban zone one the platforms sit, four in total, heavy rail and trams for real ease of transit. A footbridge just added lifts and ramps that help you move. No toilets here but you make do, exchange lines, heavy rail or green. Broombridge Hamilton’s more than just a name. It’s history in motion, quaternions meet modern locomotion. Future plans whisper extension toward Charlestown, but funds haven’t come yet, the dream’s in outlines. He’s the name of place and motion, a gateway through old and new.
Why choose such a colonial sounding name?
Lovely westbrit name.
Droichead Doom!!
Sin a bhfuil?
So in response to widespread criticism about the low number of units, they’re gaslighting us by counting some houses that already have permission and telling us we’re counting the rest wrong. No change in numbers, just a change in maths.
Use ai to generate Irish suburb names and you’d end up with better results😂
Can we please just name it in Irish and stop with the continued murder of our language!?
Broombridge Hamilton sounds like a Harry Potter spin off
