€60k seems reasonable, if enough people get the benefit from it. The first I’ve heard of it.

Whatever about its actual utility, which I would imagine is low, the CGI officer is a blatant rip off. You can get fully modeled and animated characters from Daz or even blender stores that look much better and cost, at most, 2K

      >An AI-generated picture of a smoky-eyed woman with full lips was attached to the proposal to demonstrate how the prison officer might appear

I think the author has a little crush on the ai prison officer

      Haha, ye right.

You can get professional to do those 10x cheaper with Blender or whatever.

You can get it 100x cheaper if you go with an Indian lad on Fiver.

Handy for the rest of the boyos to work on escape plans.

Paying an Irish company to do the work, and not competing in a race to the bottom for the cheapest service. Paying artists €50 an hour in Ireland instead of €10 an hour in SE Asia.

People would still be complaining if they got someone’s brother down the pub to knock something together for a score.

Or you could say, private sector companies sticking the boot in because the client is public sector.

Your income -> others pockets. That’s what the state is about.

I don’t get it. Is this something we should be outraged about?

    9. An 8 year old could do that on SIMS for a few Roblox vouchers
      OR
Hire a local videographer to video the governor doing a walk through; be a couple of grand.

I could do this with Meshy.ai, and an Insta360 camera, and a shotgun mic or recorder.

      – I’d use off the shelf virtual tour software (even add hot spots)
      – I’d use stock sounds for pool tables, and if I actually had to record… that’s maybe couple hundred for 2 days work for a few hours of recording.
      – I’d do the voiceovers using Ai or heck, pay a voice actor. That’s a couple hundred bucks.

Oof. I’m clearly in the wrong business if these are the kinds contracts people get.

That’s cheap as fuck, don’t see what the complaint is.

I’ve worked on a few VR/AR projects, and this isn’t actually that expensive.

    13. I’m sure it’s a good tour but there’s no way I’m paying that much

I just went through the full tour and found it very interesting and well done, I imagine if you or a person in your life has a need of it it would be a brilliant asset. Also not that expensive for what it is
