>In parallel, the prevalence of cancer in Armenia has increased by 45% in recent years. Doctors prove that there is a connection between food quality and cancer, and geneticists confirm that food affects genes, that is, the health and quality of life of future generations.
I am not surprised at all, there are the whole agriculture sector is fucked to the core and there is no way to have a conversation with a farmer in Armenia, they will fight you to your grave and not change their habits. Just hear them in the video “ban chi lini”
People spray as a preventive measure as an immovable rule, and not as a solution to a problem, they spray pesticides every other week even though there are no pests or diseases visible…
I swear there are agriculture groups on facebook called “smart farming” with some self entitled idiots as admins that portray themselves as some kind of agriculture prophet, and you see them recommending to spray chemicals every week as a habit and giving all kinds of insane recommendations to people, where those people follow blindsighted.
The worst part? according to the article the government knew about these numbers and links and they published the tests 3-5 years later.
To top it all off? we’re not even touching insane amounts of micro plastic going into our soil, which is as big of a problem as chemical spraying, and we’re also not dealing with rampant salt/chemical based fertilizers which is fucking lake Sevan and causing algae blooming, and killing the fish in the lake.
Ignoring all these massive health issues is nothing less of criminal.
