This agreement is a shame for the EU. Tariffs on EU products sold to the US. No tariffs for US products. At the same time we need to open our market for undesirable products like unsafe, large American pick up trucks that don’t even fit in parking spots here.

Von der GreenDeal has the second best political legacy in Europe right after Angela Merkel.
EU is really weak. China, USA and Russia can do anything they want EU will just condemn or send an angry letter.
I wonder if Von der Leyen is being blackmailed in some way?
Regarding the scandal involving her and her husband, there’s a saying in my country: “Think badly and you’ll be right.”
To be fair, VdL was given a negotiation mandate by most of the EU: roll over. She’s the face of it, but ultimately it was Germany, Italy, and others that would rather keep their exports.
Blame should (also) be put on those.
If even Draghi, that by no means is a radical, feels that this agreement is bad, maybe Ursula and the supporters of the deal should start to think what is obvious: it is a BAD deal. The EU Commission was basically incompetent and got scammed by the US. And the worst is that the EU has tools to pressure the US into a better deal. Just look what happened with China and confirm that a better deal was always possible. This is a disgrace!
She is an unelected spineless war criminal
Can’t wait to see her gone, along with Costa and their ilk. We need actual strong leaders who will fight for EU sovereignty instead of bowing down to bullies.
Leaders who are willing to work with the people over the next few decades to make Europe more self-reliant and capable as a world power. This isn’t it, even if it was to buy time for stability.
Because it’s a slippery slope if we allow a temporary kneeling to become “business as usual”. This Trump is almost gone, but there’s plenty of them lined up already.
We must be better.
It’s a fail because they pursue this dying and suicidal economic model. This is their culture, their reason to live and didn’t even consider that goes against people interests (their employers btw).
In the end taxes always are a burden on consummers first, producers later. Up to EU to seek for EU alternatives to american goods and straighten their inner homeland markets.
But EU biggest flaw is and remains the big tech industry, where knowledge and influence resides. And on this front we sadly didn’t see any sheer willing to counter that.
Absolute capitulation.
That’s not an agreement, that’s sucking up to convicted felon Donald Trump.
Bad deal but there’s alot of signals that Trumps on borrowed time based on his health. It may be safer to take this bad deal now then go in for a reset with Vance in 12 months.
You can argue VdL was given a mandate by EU member states to basically surrender and there is nothing she could have done.
But you cannot justify how much she sucked up to Trump during the announcement of the deal. Check out this transcript and ask yourself what just happened.
