a nice day for a vote ( do we know if their will be a referenda iswell on the date )

    2. They really are going out of their way to make it difficult for people to vote aren’t they? Disgraceful stuff if they go ahead with it for that day.

A Thursday election. A great way to suppress votes from young people.

7 weeks to an election and we only have one candidate officially!

The UNI students that want to vote won’t be able to if they live far enough away from home

If you live in a college away from home you’re not allowed to vote. People are not angry enough about this.

I think we should all get the day off work to vote.

Also the Friday because it’s a bank holiday weekend and it would be silly to go in Friday when you’ve Monday off!

Is there any day of the week they can make it that won’t be decried by this sub as a conspiracy to rig the election?

Just to counter some misinformation in this thread already:

If you are a student living away from home, of course you can still vote and no you don’t need to travel home. It is trivial to update your details on the voting register so that you can vote where you are living. Use this website: [https://www.voter.ie](https://www.voter.ie)

You normally need to do this 15 days before a vote. This election is 59 days away. Off you go.

Every election should be fixed to Saturdays

Weekday voting disenfranchises students and many young parents.
