If they come with that, start mass selling off their bonds. Just 100 bn across Europe at once, then we can watch their bankers and the FED rushing to Trump and scolding him and forcing him to take it back.
A single instance of a tech company allowing the spread of “misinformation” can result in a fine up to 20% of the companies annual revenue. The point being: who decides what is “misinformation”? A politician in power who does not want details of his/her behaviour being made public can label it misinformation, obviously. There is no way that this will not be abused. Look at the mess that happened during the lockdowns, a great deal of what official sources called “misinformation” turned out to be true. Tech platforms were censoring free speech during the “pandemic” and a lot of people made decisions without being able to get a full spectrum of views and this is very much what free speech is all about. I am not a fan of American big tech, I think that they are not about free speech, but in this instant they are correct. We didn’t vote on these laws, they are being inflicted upon us.
Big opportunity for EU to give Trump a huge middle finger, so of course they gonna fold
So this is the reward for the EU signing a bad deal for itself, and an advantageous deal for the US. Maybe if the European Commission ever grows balls, they’ll realize that conceding just emboldens people with predator mindsets. Took them long enough with Russia, and even with them there’re still gaps now.
I knew this was going to happen when the DSA and DMA passed. US politicians will see it as an attack on American companies. People back then cheering for common market win and Europe stronk are about find out when America goes to war for its companies.
THE USA IS NOT AN ALLY
Bit weird but ok. DMA and DSA where not part of the memorandum of understanding and nothing else matters.
Trump will give EU a very short window to adopt across EU countries his MOA. I say 45 days or so ? If no solid compliance he will institute tariffs and other sanctions. On free speech he will first pick out individual bureaucrats, politicians, and related family members before escalating to national level sanctions.
