That remains a mischaracterisation of what caused Burke’s sacking; the argument might have been over a trans pupil – one that, importantly, Burke _didnt even teach_ – but Burke’s harassment and behavior towards the school staff got him sacked. 

He’s not an ideological martyr, he’s a shitty employee and bully who abused his colleagues and boss outside of any kind of due process, even to the point of disrupting school events. Sick of the Indo subtly trying to reshape the narrative of this story.
