Trump on even day – Zelensky is stalling the summit.
Imagine the “dislike” Zelensky might be feeling towards a person that at the same time as his country is invaded the person that ordered it sent deathsquads to hunt down Zelensky. Dislike does not describe it, hate? Loathing or whatever you can come up with.
Putin dislikes Zelensky because he has balls, he stayed and helped defend his country when everyone thought it would be over in days or weeks.
Yes, he tries to have him assassinated on a daily basis, that’s a sign of dislike.
It wasn’t long time ago, when a head of state couldn’t just openly admit stalling peace process for not liking another country leader

[Donald Trump](https://www.independent.co.uk/topic/donald-trump) says he believes [Vladimir Putin](https://www.independent.co.uk/topic/vladimir-putin) is avoiding meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart [Volodymyr Zelensky](https://www.independent.co.uk/topic/volodymyr-zelensky) simply due to personal animosity.
The US president has been pushing to arrange a peace summit between the two leaders but his efforts have so far been rebuffed by Moscow.
Asked yesterday why Putin was refusing to meet Zelensky, Trump appeared once again to sympathise with the Russian leader.
“Because he doesn’t like him,” Trump said, adding: “I have people I don’t like, I don’t like to meet with them.”
Trump also admitted that he has spoken on the phone with Putin again since their call on the side lines of a summit with European leaders in the [White House](https://www.independent.co.uk/topic/white-house) last Monday.
Meanwhile, Zelensky said Monday he had a good meeting with US envoy Keith Kellogg, discussing pressure on Russia for “real” ceasefire talks and the United States’ role in Ukraine’s security.
Plans for a possible summit with Putin and post-ceasefire guarantees were also due to be discussed this week. It is unclear if this will be separate from the Kellogg meeting.
Can’t imagine Zelensky or any other sane person whatsoever to be that fond of putin either, yet russia is the only party stalling.
Send more weapons, putin has no intention to stop.
As if a literal war wasn’t a good indication of mutual hatred.
That’s what happens when you clap at a freaking mass murderer and smile at him: he does not feel like he’s threatened and feels empowered.
Putler feels like he’s the one leading the dance here. It must change.
As long as it’s not happening, they will keep playing with the West as if we’re fucking dumb. (and we’re at least not strong enough for now.)
Zelensky doesn’t like Putin either but is willing to meet.
