L’ultima delle vecchie reliquie della NMBS o le hanno rinnovate? Ricordo vagamente che sono Bordeaux Red e lo hanno portato sulla linea Charleroi ad Anversa.
The train line i live next to (Puurs-antwerp) has 1/2 these trains (other half are newer models)
And yes there were red ones like them before; i suppose refurbished but dont know (ithink latest i remember those is like 2015-2017 orso)

Old, you say?

Those are MS75/AM75, they’re old trains but got completely refurbished, a project that ended around 2020 if I recall correctly. I also feel they’ve aged really poorly since the refurbishment, the graffiti doesn’t help. They run frequently on Puurs-Roosendaal, and some lines to Binche and Turnhout

they are the oldest units still in service as of today, approaching 50 years old, but were refurbished relatively recently (between 2015-2020). There were never a lot of them (originally only 44) so they are only used on a few select lines.
the M4 cars are also almost as old, and those are currently being progressively taken out of service

Since they were just refurbished, they’ll be in service for at least 15 more years. They look and feel a bit outdated, but they work. I don’t mind them for short trips, but they’re definitely not made for longer journeys

The material I’m driving today…
And as usual, with the necessary technical issues. On each of the two coupled units, half of the engines has been isolated so it accelerates like a snail on a Valium.
(On a short break between trains btw, no multimedia while driving 🙂)
