He doesn’t need to. He didn’t have the faintest idea of the consequences of Brexit but it made him and his mates richer so that’s all that mattered.

    2. Deadliftdeadlife on

Does he need to? It’ll never effect people in his position.

It would appear half the electorate were equally as clueless (or just closet racists/xenophobes).

No-one forced them into voting Leave…they made a conscious decision to line up, that day, and shoot themselves in the foot (metaphorically).

This will neither be news to those on side or of any importance to those on the other.

Does he mention Bluncket at all, the link won’t load for me?

I can’t imagine how embarrassing it will be if this clown gets into power.

It’s like how Sunak did that whole big thing of putting EU laws in the shredder and then they kind of quietly backed down on it.

Talking is _easy_, but Reform doesn’t have a great record on delivery.

    8. ShambolicPaulThe2nd on

The conservatives are talking about doing this too.

Farage is a clown. He prances around in front of the camera like some 1970s pub comedian, doing the same old skits for his fans. Having him in charge would be like putting Bernard Manning or Roy “Chubby” Brown in number 10. Sure, some people would be entertained when he says the naughty stuff that we’re not supposed to say, but they’d be less entertained when the cost of living rockets and we have no public healthcare or schools left.

Why do they want to get rid of these. Makes you wonder … or it should :

      1. Right to life

      2. Freedom from torture and inhuman or degrading treatment

      3. Freedom from slavery and forced labour

      4. Right to liberty and security

      5. Right to a fair trial

      6. No punishment without law (you can’t be punished for something that wasn’t a crime at the time)

      7. Right to respect for private and family life

      8. Freedom of thought, conscience and religion

      9. Freedom of expression

      10. Freedom of assembly and association (to meet and form groups/unions)

      11. Right to marry and start a family

      12. Right to an effective remedy (to challenge breaches of your rights in court)

      13. Freedom from discrimination

If reform gets in they will basically do fuck all other than enrich them selves and there friends.

They will say who knows running a country could be so hard. Then they will say if you give us another term we will definitely be able to sort it.

Please explain what human rights abuses we had to endure in 1997 that Nigel Farage wants to bring back

      > Farage ‘hasn’t got the faintest idea’ of consequences

That’s it. That should be the headline.

The only consequence he cares about are that he and his rich backers get even richer and stomp the working and middle class in to the ground all in the name of “making Britain back British”

    14. mooninuranus on

He has already demonstrated that he can say whatever he wants to get what he wants with pretty much no consequences.

Why would he change that approach now?

He’s a fucking cockroach and yet people lap it up.

    15. The annoying thing about this is that Benn is doing the exact same thing mainstream politicians have said for decades now “oooo, we couldn’t possibly” but hasn’t actually said what would be so negative. Would be helpful if ministers actually laid out what the issues would be – this just sounds like an empty threat.

And Farage doesn’t need to think about the consequences right now. He can happily throw out all these statements for the time being with no consequences and if the best Labour can do is call him a boogeyman with nothing to back it up he’ll lap that up all day long

    16. ErebusBlack1 on

Did Tony Blair understand the consequences when he wrote the ECHR into everything?

Did he realise that having judges prevent the deportation of foreign born nonces due to “human rights” wouldn’t be popular?

    17. TheL0wKing on

      It could be worse.

He could completely understand the consequences of leaving and be planning for them….

    18. The fact that there is so much concern about Reform gaining power should result in the Tories and Labour getting their act together and sorting out the issues that are resulting in Reform leading in the Polls. Sadly, at the moment, neither are. There are still 3 years to go before the next Election. Lets hope they use this time wisely

      >Farage ‘hasn’t got the faintest idea’

Could have left it there really.
