What will it take for Austria to close down the russian spy bases?

    2. AdMean6001 on

But if it doesn’t join NATO, it will be treated like other non-NATO European countries… oh wait!

    3. >N., IAEA, OSCE and OPEC. Medvedev threatened to reconsider the location of these institutions, in what would be a blow to Austria’s global standing.

granting these mfs any position of power was one of the worst mistakes in recent history. It should literally be India or any other country, instead of this shithole. What did they do to deserve this, they are poor af and without oil are absolutely irrelevant.

So what will RuZZia do if Austria will be joining NATO? Will they bomb another church, hospital, school, old folks home, kennel, apartment or restaurant in retaliation?

    5. This guy never fails to impress, he’s trying so hard not to show what his master told him to say, so he decides to overdo it , without realizing that he gives himself away.

There is no way we are going to join nato for multiple reasons but that makes me kinda want to.

They talked big game about Finland joining NATO too. I guess sabotaging those undersea cables was the worst they could do.

    8. Sweden and Finland sure can feel the harsh retaliatory measures to this day.

      See? Nobody cares.

After years of threats, all I can say is: do it, no balls.

This isn’t even an option and no Austrian party will entertain this idea unless absolutely necessary. He’s just putting it out there so that he can argue that international organizations should move away from Vienna and out of the EU.

I think Austria should be allowed to join NATO because it is a West European country. It is all the former Soviet bloc countries who have raised our prospect of war with Russia massively and ruined the golden age of peace we had with Russia in the 90s and early 2000s.

Russia: „And I took that personally“

Heck, repeating the same phrase over and over will not make it more real.

    15. Ok-Diver3111 on

Nato did not spread west to east like russia wants you to belive. It was east to west. Because of the aggressor.
      .

    16. So there wasn’t any problem with Finland, but there is with Austria?

    17. Penetrator_Gator on

Why? Why is Austria, a country that far away from Russia, that important for Russia?

    18. NativeEuropeas on

Austria should grow some balls and join the NATO like all European nations, and share the burden of common defense.

I strongly criticize their “neutrality”. It’s easy to be neutral when you’re surrounded by friendly allied countries that are pulling your weight.

Geez remember when this guy was a president of russia and wasn’t allowed to speak at all just followed like a poodle….

Its not Medvedev kinda threat if it aint nuclear….

    20. Well there is no discussion in Austria ATM to do that… So this is inflated hot air coming out of mini me’s arse

    21. StrengthToBreak on

It’s Medvedev, so I’m guessing that he threatened to nuke London again?

    22. Russian here.

What a stupid article. Medvedev is not Putin’s ally. He is a former president (and ironically the best president in modern Russian history) who barely has any power now as the vice chair of the security council.

Also, to point out – the dude managed to stay alive and well despite being the only person apart from Putin who held the title of the president of Russia. Which is quite something.

He is known to be a heavy drinker lately, so whether his super-militarized rhetoric is due to political shrewdness or solid inebriation (or even both!) remains to be seen.

    23. They could threat twice this week just in case they forget to threat someone next week.

    24. This is how I find out Austria isn’t part of the NATO, wth.

    25. Massimo25ore on

      >Medvedev emphasized that Austria’s neutrality is protected by the 1955 Austrian State Treaty and the Moscow Memorandum. He argued that any move toward NATO membership would violate international law, specifically the Vienna Convention on the Law of Treaties.

Russia calling for the respect of international laws and treaties. I wish we could post pictures in the comments, a simple AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH isn’t enough.
