They act like they’re some how victims and not just being incredibly entitled with essentially no claim.

Absolute chancers. They expected to breeze through life and retire decades before those after them will and have us pay for it. They didn’t bother to check their retirement age once in nearly twenty years. At best they’re morons, at worst they’ve demonstrated wilful ignorance and assumed if they made enough noise they’d get their way. I’m so glad successive governments have ignored them.

They should spend this energy working then they’d have more money

Cue Nigel Farage jumping to promise them money any day now.

I’m sorry but it’s not the governments fault you didn’t plan your retirements properly. You had literal decades of warning the pension changes were happening

I distinctly remember my Mum and her friend Angela talking about the change in their pensions. Being as kind as I can, neither of them were particularly intelligent or tuned in to personal finances/politics/current affairs yet they understood it. I guess I was about 12 and I understood it.
These people were ignorant, they are not victims in any way, shape or form. Government should spend the absolute minimum time and money on the issue.

They could have spent this time in the work force with the rest of us 😘

You don’t need to go anywhere, but you have run out of ways to do anything. Lost in the courts and nobody in the political area supports you anymore.

What this shows is the need to urgently update our voting system to make it more accessible to take away the power of pensioners to dictate the system because they vote. Early voting, more postal votes, get rid of the worthless voter ID law (aka voter suppression) etc. Once people under 65 and especially those under 40 are as active as over 65s groups like WASPE will stop having the ear of politicians

They will be averaging 75 next election and 80 the one after. Life expectancy is ~80. That means they will lose 10%-20% of their influence next election and 50% the election after. They’ve already lost.
They should have some dignity and enjoy their triple locked pension rather than trying to demand even more of their fair share.

A movement of people crying “inequality” because they only got 30 years notice that they wouldn’t get their pensions years earlier than another group of people who are expected to live 5% shorter lives…

Get over it. Bet majority of these have benefitted from inflated house prices and never fully paid into the system. The country is sinking into shit and we are getting endless claims from squawking old women with nothing better to do.

The press talk a lot about about people fully capable of work scrounging benefits, weirdly it isn’t this lot that they mean.

This has to be the dumbest and most entitled advocacy group out there. The hubris of these women is incredible.

I always find it a bit baffling, I’m a young person (well “young”) and not sure if I will ever save enough money to be able to get a house with my partner. Realistically, we’re going to be ok as we may inherit some money down the line, but that already means we have it quite good compared to others of our generation.
Meanwhile, an older acquaintance of ours keeps complaining about her WASPI claims, winter fuel allowance and such all while going on 2 cruises per year, numerous other holidays andday trips with the grandchildren and so on, she’s barely at home.
I hate generational conflicts and I’m sure she’s worked hard and endured many hardships in her life but from my perspective she seems quite privileged.
