Now there’s a man whose assets I would take deep pleasure in being seen frozen.

    2. Every country gets sanctions and tariffs! Except Russia, of course…

      >Maybe it’s time you’re made aware that doing business or visiting America is a privilege, not a right,” Graham warned.

Well, maybe it’s time you’re made aware that doing business with American companies is a choice, not an obligation.

      >As part of an ongoing ethics review meant to root out investments that contribute to Israeli violations of international law, the Norwegian wealth fund announced this week that it would exclude the construction equipment manufacturer Caterpillar. The ethics council concluded, “There is no doubt that Caterpillar’s products are being used to commit extensive and systematic violations of international humanitarian law.” Namely, “Bulldozers manufactured by Caterpillar are being used by Israeli authorities in the widespread unlawful destruction of Palestinian property,” the council found, as the Boycott, Divest, and Sanctions (BDS) movement has long pointed out.

Tldr, country A that is in a trade war with country B is unhappy that country B does not want to finance tools that the vassal of country A uses to commit genocide.

      Tldr of the tldr.
Just read the article and do a dark chuckle and a tragic headshake like I did.

This dude has been a bitch for decades, and that’s only the time I’ve known of him, but how is he still listened to?

It’s time Europe does tit for tat. If they sanction Europe must sanction them. If they put tariff on Europe, put tariff on them. There is the rest of the world for Europe to explore and do business with.

      >Senator Lindsey Graham on Thursday threatened to slap tariffs on Norway for its sovereign wealth fund’s decision to divest from an American company reportedly complicit in Israeli human rights abuses in Gaza and the West Bank.

Compared to US starting a trade war while war was at Europe’s doorstep, idk, this seems like a joke but fine, go on. Let’s see where this goes.

I really don’t get it, how is BDS affecting US, it’s people or even it’s companies … if the companies are that great, other investors will immediately buy the dip. I would say it is even a blessing, as it eliminates a foreign majority investor.

The only reason the weasel is piping up now is because he, or likely one of his donors, are feeling the squeeze.

The Jewish lobbyist definitely have this cat in the bag…. Crazy to see BB Netanyahu starving Gaza‘s population without US taking action, the Jew’s spend billions to keep our leaders on BB side regardless of his actions. SAD! 2 state solution

Can we just start to ignore them, I literally give zero fucks about what they want. Let them do their tariffs, just reply with some tariffs or service fees back and done

Sanctions/ Tarriffs because they chose to sell off stocks? So he doesn’t want market economy and prefer communism?

Israel knows all about lady g over there, so of course the male escort frequenting Lindsey Graham AKA lady G would go along with whatever Israel wants. They probably know about all sorts of other stuff too, Financial crimes, probably something darker. The president certainly has dirt on this guy he basically openly bragged about it last term.

    18. satelshawn on

The absolute hypocrisy is astounding. So what, you hold a gun to everyone’s head and say what US companies others must invest or face consequences? While you place sanctions on other countries for trading with people you don’t want them to trade with? If people weren’t so greedy it’d be great to watch the world divest of every American financial asset and watch them burn.

Maybe he forgot that doing business with American companies is a burden not a privilege. Big words must be hard for him.

Fyi norways exports to the US make up around 1% of its total exports. Even if you banned norwegian goods from being sold in the US it wouldnt matter to them

My question is: is Caterpillar openly doing business with Isreal, like a contract? Or, as the article mentioned, are their products merely being used by the Isrealis? There is a big difference.

The party of free market does not like that a company makes their free choices

This will be fun. On one hand you have a US senator calling for sanctions of a European country which this sub doesn’t like. On the other hand the article mentions BDS which this sub also doesn’t like. Let’s see which one wins
