Tag guten!

  • Dal fornitore EVB ± 2700EUR annuale;
  • Miglior prezzo -prestazione – ADAC – 2000eur annuale.

Cost of car insurance – is it normal for freshly imported car?

    Has nothing to do with the car. You are a newly registered driver here that will get insurance for the first time. You start at the percentage where new 18 year old drivers start. You have a car that most likely has way more than these 20 year old 60HP cars a beginner uses have and the car has a higher value. They don’t want to take a risk and ask for a lot of money because of that.

    So yes this is normal, next time buy a cheap shitbox instead of importing a car.

  2. depending on your country you can get your insurance history transfer to Germany, reducing significantly the insurance.

    I never done it myself so cannot help here.

  3. That sounds crazy expensive. I moved to Germany 10y ago. After 1y bought a diesel Audi TT (~30k€ at the time). My insurance was around 600€ annually for full coverage.
    There are some things you should tweak. 1) you should increase your deductible. Make it at least 1k€. With such a low value/common car you will only use the comprehensive part for a sever accident in which you are at fault. 2) make sure you are using a realistic amount of kms per year. If you overshoot here the insurance becomes quite a bit more expensive. Look for insurance companies like HUK24 that are no in check24.

    Of course it is normal, if you start with 0 insurance history you start with maximum premium. Also maybe the car model is often involved in accidents, so it might be more expensive. It could be more expensive than insuring 3x more powerful and more expensive car. Many factors to be honest. Even a small thing where you park the car, on the street or private garage, if you own your house or no, everything makes difference. Also check HUK Coburg separately, since it’s not shown in Check24

    I find it quite pricey. I brought my France registered 150CV 2015 Seat Alhambra back in 2022 and similar to you insurances gave me quotes as if I had never driven in my life. Ended up choosing HUK Coburg for 750€/year. No ADAC, Tail Casco from 150€. After 3 years with 0 claims the price is now down to… 720€, but still not too bad.

    How much of the total price is the Vollkasko and how much the Haftpflicht? You can go for Teilkasko or even no Kasko at all since only the Haftpflicht is mandatory.

    Call some insurance agents and tell them your story. Some will give you a good SF (insurance class). Try DEVK because usually they’ll see how old the driver‘s license is and give you a good discount.

  8. Sounds like a relatively normal, if somewhat high, range for an unknown driver. But why Vollkasko?
