      Bolt and Uber shouldn’t exist in the first place. They are not profitable unless they continue to use self-employed agents instead of employee drivers (thereby also avoiding several employer obligations). Yes it is nice to be able to use a cheaper taxi in the form of bolt and uber and from the consumer perspective this is appreciated, however, it is not sustainable and humane and should definitely not be legal. Should Bolt/Uber be forced to “employ” their drivers, rather than really on third-party self-employed agents like in the UK and elsewhere, you will quickly realise that their prices increase to the white taxi level.

      There is a valid reason for the preferential treatment of white taxis. Bolt and Uber are avoiding taxation through foreign companies.

      If it goes after the cab fleet owners who hire sub contacted drivers and exploit them, then im fine with it. I don’t think we need the amount of bolt and Uber drivers we have at the moment

      The day the white taxis are driven out of business and bolt/uber only have each other as competition, they will triple their prices. This has already been seen in other places where traditional taxi companies have been forced out of the market.
