That’s probably because of the violent criminals hanging about outside the asylum hotel in Nuneaton shouting abuse at staff and residents.

At least they haven’t tried turn burn it down for a year or so.

      > Yusuf Ali Hamud arrived in the UK two decades ago to seek asylum, but after **a criminal conviction for a serious assault, he was stripped of his right to work.**

Sorry. No sympathy for this cretin.

He was found guilty of serious assult; he’s not some poor *victimised* refugee to fetishise over.

Frankly, fuck him and good riddance.

Why does he have to be deported, can’t he just leave if he wants to

Lol it says the other guy literally got racially abused during the Sky News interview (Christ, and he’s lived there since 6yo). Yeh, maybe it’s specifically safer from racial abuse or groups of teen chavs in parts of Somalia, who knows. I remember Mo Farah saying when he was young in Somalia it was considered safe to send a young kid out.

Definitely doesn’t seem a safe place to send non-White kids to school, down the line for anyone accepted.

For the Somali guy, I don’t understand why he’s here either, if he has no right to work. So is he being deported? Or is a temporary lack of right to work part of his criminal sentence for assault? I think we all know state bureaucracy is often farcical across many departments.

“Yusuf Ali Hamud said if he didn’t have the right to work or refugee status in the UK, “why am I here?”

This makes no sense. No one is forcing him to stay – he should be free to leave anytime. He can liase with the Somali Embassy located in London for a one-way ticket home.

Unless he’s looking for some sort of financial compensation from the government, and he thinks this is the best way to achieve this…

The guy wants to go back to Somalia as the country is now relatively safe and the government don’t want him working so he’ll be stuck on benefits. It’s a no brainer really.

I found this far more worrying from the article, they were interviewing someone else, not the subject of the headline. The casual racism that has been whipped up and normalised.

“A Sky News interview with Zahin, a 32-year-old businessman, was interrupted by a group of women who shouted and swore at the camera.

“You’re trying to rape our kids,” shouted one of the women. They were accompanied by children and one held a pint of lager.

“That’s the issue with having youse [sic] in our country, you’re raping our kids,” one woman shouted.

Zahin, who relocated to Nuneaton from Malawi when he was six years old, asked the women: “What you teaching them kids?””

He’s got an assault charge, he should feel right at home in Nuneaton.
