Dove diavolo comincio …?
Sono stato in Norvegia dall’inizio di giugno e mi sono trasferito in Norvegia per stare con il mio partner.
Ho fatto la forma UDI e sono andato alla polizia, fantastico!
Ora Nav … Prima siamo andati lì per ottenere il mio numero D e registrarci lì come cercatore di lavoro. Ci è stato detto che possiamo ottenere un numero D e arriverà per posta tra una settimana. Grande! Passa 2 settimane e nessuna posta. Chiamiamo quindi Nav sul perché non abbiamo ricevuto alcuna posta, ci hanno detto che non sono riusciti a capire perché non avessimo avuto nulla, quindi dovevamo andare a Skatteetaten. Quindi siamo andati a Skatteetaten (che ha impiegato un mese per ottenere un appuntamento). A Skatteetaten, non sono riusciti a trovare un numero D sotto il mio nome, quindi ci hanno detto di compilare un modulo di numero prrsonale e ci dicono che possono impiegare fino a 6 mesi per finire il modulo. Non va bene, dal momento che posso soggiornare solo 6 mesi senza lavoro.
Quindi andiamo di nuovo a NAV, per sapere cosa è successo con il mio numero D … abbiamo capito, che hanno scritto il mio nome assolutamente sbagliato. Hanno usato sia il mio cognome che hanno lasciato il mio nome. Assolutamente fantastico, abbiamo scritto il nostro numero D su carta.
Quindi ora abbiamo avuto un’intervista con NAV per avere una persona a NAV che potremmo contattare (da quando ho 22 anni). L’intervista è andata alla grande! Ha capito i miei problemi di salute e voleva aiutarci. Adesso era lunedì, sono qui da 3 mesi. Ovviamente, ho presentato per lavoro ma nient’altro che i rifiuti. Speravamo che NAV mi avesse aiutato a causa del mio CV focalizzato sull’assistenza sanitaria.
Ma oggi ricevo un messaggio (vedi l’immagine allegata) dicendo che non possono aiutarmi perché sono un cittadino EFTA (???) e non sanno per quanto tempo rimarrò in Norvegia.
Quindi ci mandano avanti e indietro solo per dire che non possono aiutarmi e ora sono bloccato …

You haven’t paid any taxes in this country why should NAV help you? Shouldn’t you ask for help from the country you and your family before you paid taxes?
NAV does not in general help work immigrants, unless you have a refugee status.
Me and my now husband got married just so I could get through udi and get access to language courses, the sad thing is you’ll never get any financial help so it can be difficult and even after the language course there may still be difficulties in finding employment, NAV won’t even help me.
I have been exactly in your situation, the person at nav was extremely friendly and even honestly told me that it would be much, MUCH easier for me if I would come from Africa. As an immigrant from a European country you are basically on your own, no support for language or anything else.
Even support courses to help you find easier access to the job market (such as forklift or truck driver licenses and stuff) are not supported if you are European.
It’s a bit weird and you are definitely not alone with your frustration, it felt very unfair to me as well.
My first question is, why do you think NAV will help you get a job when you’re a new immigrant who has stayed here for all of 2-3 months?
NAV should really be a last resort *(I’m not talking about their job portal, but their programs to get people into jobs)* reserved for those who have exhausted **conventional** means of gaining employment.
The work market is rough right now, and you probably don’t know Norwegian. It’s going to take a lot more applications and a lot more proactiveness towards employers and job listings for you to secure a position. It might be easier for you if you apply outside fo the big cities.
Is your partner Norwegian? The first thing you need to do is to gain at least conversational skills in the language.
Apply to vikariat and part time positions within health if you are qualified from a EU country.
