Is it or this sub is now drowning in Kremlin’s textbook propaganda?

    3. How in god’s name are we not last? Every second person here is “EU this”, “EU that”,”EU will force us to eat bugs”, “EU will make us take 2 billion immigrants”, “EU killed my dog”, “EU stole my girlfriend” etc.

IIRC Spain used to be well above the average not long ago. People here used to be staunchly pro-EU but there’s been a stark growing discontent with the EU due to the whole way immigration and the recent conflicts have been handled.

Surprising to see Italy still above the average despite being in similar conditions to us and having a right wing government though.

I am dissapointed that Poland isn’t higher, but at least on paper we beat Germany and thats what matters.

Interesting that the greatest beneficiary – Greece – has the most unfavorable opinion of the EU (largest red bar). Not much gratitude there for our bailing them out, or so it appears.

Actually very pro-EU numbers here, like every nation has more pro-EU than anti-EU, which afaik says no more exits coming. That said..

The most pro-EU are physically far away, while the least pro-EU are physically quite central, even France ranks pretty low, dispite seeing the Brexit disaster most clearly. This suggests the actual experence winds up worse than advertised, but nations limit the damage when physically further. As an example, France would probably pitch a fit if Belgium legalized drugs like Portugal did. Greece had nasty experences, so them being physically far away and less pro-EU makes sense.

Russian propoganda could’ve played some historical role here, like in France and Germany, but afaik Czech people mostly hate Russia, Russians, Russian tourists, Russian hats, etc. Actually [Czechs lead efforts against Russian propaganda](https://www.dw.com/en/how-russian-interference-is-impacting-czech-politics/a-68873286). Also Czechs seem pro-NATO again because so many hate Russia.

Basically a map of countries where politicians refuse to take ownership of their own policies and instead say “but the EU made me do it” as if they had no input at all and the EU was somehow directly setting national policy.

Portugal is an interesting case. Its numbers are much more positive than its neighbors’. Even if you consider cultural affinity, again, Portugal has a much higher level than Spain, Italy, and France. When it comes to GDP, Portugal is an outlier in the top 5 nations. Furthermore, while both Portugal and Greece experienced austerity measures under the troika, Greece’s positive views are less than half of Portugal’s. Portugal is experiencing a large migration wave similar to other countries, so that is not a factor either. Is it Russian propaganda? Maybe their bots only speak Spanish…

    10. EUs apathy towards the Cyprus occupation and Turkish aggression makes me unable to have a positive view of EU and other EU countries if I am being honest.

Greece having one of the highest “total negative” is INSANE to me when the EU literally bailed Greece out of bankruptcy. Apparently they didn’t learn their lesson.

But then again, I live in France, and we’re barely better.

Czech Republic media is flooded with anti-EU, anti-NATO propaganda. Unfortunately people there (especially in rural areas) are quite vulnerable to propaganda and disinformation.

Since there’s election in Czech Republic this year, the propaganda flood is only getting worse. So people tend to blame their current (pro-EU) government and EU itself for every single problem.

It’s extremely sad, since Czech Republic is going down by the same road as Hungary and Slovakia: electing pro-russian government and blaming everything on EU.
