So they even invited politicians that weren’t even in office and therefore had no power whatsoever?

I guess they just wanted the group picture to include as many people as possible and they just don’t have enough actual allies for that.

Literally the Temu version of NATO right there.

European dictators allying themselves with a civilisational rival so they can, tear down Europe. It’s so hilarious but I can’t bring myself to laugh. Seriously, what do Russians actually think of this? Putin literally bending over to Xi, Kim, and Modi to do what exactly? To kill more Ukrainians? Potentially kill Latvians, Lithuanians, and Estonians? And hopefully destroy the European Union (through political and economic sabotage)? Is this the grand goal of Russian civilisation? Ally itself with the east to kill Europe? To be the eternal saboteur of Western Europe?

Almost 20 million km^2 in land area. Most resources in the world. Russians in theory, if they united with the rest of Europe, could turn Europe into a global superpower. Russians would get wealth, prosperity, prestige, and they would get what they want: American no longer being geopolitically relevant in Europe. They could be the final piece to making Europe a self-sustainable superpower.

Instead they’re going around allying themselves with China and North Korea…to kill Ukrainians. This scenario is just so absurd to me.

The whole system’s screwed, IMO. Corruption grinds my gears big time, man! I mean, srsly, when’s enough gonna be enough for these guys!? Hell, it’s about time folks started pushing back.

I remember back in 2004 when I young and stupid and got invited to join the TSD (a branch of young social democrats) and one of the argument used by the guy who called us in to join was the fact that we could shake hands with the mighty Adrian Nastase in some later meetings of the party if we were considered interesting and loyal. I never had the patience or cared enough to do that but I never disconsidered him, quite the contrary.
At that time I never imagined to be such a failed politician as it proved to be over the years.
