If he was a criminal with a long criminal record, if he tried to abuse the welfare state, to work illegally, the Finnish state would take care of him in somehow. They don’t like decent guys.

Why does Yle make it sound like it would be a bad thing he gets deported?

I’m an immigrant who checks those boxes (though my Finnish is awful, I sound like a caveman when I speak), but I would say from my experience 60% of immigrants I know are lacking either a (legally recognized and taxed) job or language. And actually many that are missing both. It would be a real shame to let red tape and bureaucratic technicalities (as I understand it, some areas of Finnish international gov. accept that passport while others do not) send someone like this “home.” It sets a poor example of what we do to people who do all the right things.

Fake passport? Or how do they not recognise it?

These are the professionals the government speaks about wanting here but apparently they are too lazy to fix a broken system to let these people stay here. Finlands motto is basically “come here to work so we can deport you later”
