Russia invests huge money in internet warfare. Disinformation is their national sport, and not only because of their enemies, but internally. This was key in USSR – keep information, tell them what they need to know, lie to boost morale or instill fear… they are the best in the world.

And now look how shaky Europe is. The Russians plant a seed, few years later they have critical mass in the heart of their enemies.

    2. When I was telling this 10 years ago to my foreign friends they were thinking I’m crazy.
5 years ago all Ukraine already knew that – there were dozens of investigations together with russian volunteers that documented, confirmed, worked at that places, etc. Europe still thinks it is crazy coincidence and russia never meant anything bad..
      anyway, better later than never!

    3. The scariest thing about it is that they have been doing this in every country in Europe for over a decade now, and our leaders are still – in the year 2025 – completely overwhelmed by it. They have no solutions, no plan.

Se tem uma coisa que aprendi com anos na internet é não acreditar em coisas que afirmam exatamente o que eu penso
“É pago diretamente de moscow” fica parecendo que é o Putin abrindo a conta dele e mandando dinheiro pra galera

About time we get some public coverage. YouTube is a Kremlin cesspool right now.

Why don’t we have a trial day or week when we shut down social media in Europe? Honestly, I’d be curious to see what happens. The fight against disinformation in these platforms is completely hopeless. Not to mention, we’d be killing two birds with one stone. Donald would have to explain himself to the US tech oligarchs, and then he’d come to negotiate about tariffs with a different tone.

    8. I want to recommend a nice book on this topic – “Putin Trolls” by Jessikka Aro. She is a Finnish journalist, and Russian troll farms tried to destroy her life for years.
