Nah, the UK is shit enough without adding wacky evangelical bullshit to the mix thanks

No shit, British people (and their offshoot directly-founded colonies Australia and New Zealand) do not, and have never really cared that much about it.

It’s never been an issue in the Anglican Church – only for the Puritans shipped off to the US (and their off shoot churches), and for African Anglicans, who are so different from the main Anglican Church as to be almost a separate church in their own right.

    4. I don’t agree that we should take it to the level these anti-abortion groups want, but I do feel like we should be a little more restrictive, right now there’s people who don’t want kids that don’t take precautions to prevent themselves becoming pregnant and use abortion as contraception at a cost to the NHS. Granted abortions don’t cost the NHS very much, but I believe it’s abuse it like that.

Is everyone who has a different pov to progressives fueled by hate? Or is calling it “hate” just a way of trying to shut down any form of debate?

If anyone wants to know more about ADF John Oliver covered them a few months ago

They want abortion, same sex marriage, IVF, no fault divorce, surrogacy, the morning after pill, trans healthcare banned globally,

This is due to their Christian fundamentalism.

They have an office in London and Farage met with them in November

[Nigel Farage Teams Up With Extreme Anti-Abortion Group and Calls for Debate on Restricting Abortion Rights in UK](https://bylinetimes.com/2024/11/29/nigel-farage-teams-up-with-extreme-anti-abortion-group-and-calls-for-debate-on-restricting-abortion-rights-in-uk/)

The Reform Leader is joining forces with a US-based Christian legal group, which campaigns for abortion to be outlawed around the world

One of their lawyers Lorcan Price was one of the witnesses at the US congress hearing yesterday, along with Farage.

So they will probably be using the same MO they used against trans people. Basically any angle, no hypocrisy, full devotion to the goal. They’ll try lots of tactics and angles to get it to stick – abortion is somehow unsafe for women, children are getting abortions so we need to ban it for them, abortion is a violation of religious freedom, abortion is somehow anti-white… etc etc. They don’t do this because they particularly want to protect women, children, (non-christian) religions or white people, but they are strongly devoted to this single cause and will work against it tirelessly.

These people will bring in their fake concerns into discussions endlessly and over a long period of time to destroy abortion access in the UK. They’ll find some abortion provider with a sketchy past and use it to condemn all abortion providers. They’ll find a handful pro-choice people who said “kill all men” to attack pro-choice groups as a whole. People need to get smart and realize what concern trolling is and how to fight it.

They’ll get zero traction here. We don’t have the widespread religious attitudes like large parts of the US.
