“A former Department of Agriculture official said he believes an intervention by Heather Humphreys, Fine Gael’s presidential candidate, prompted the collapse of a criminal investigation into a farmer repeatedly accused of animal cruelty.

Kieran Devlin, a retired veterinary inspector who has never previously spoken publicly on the case, said he was left “totally aghast” by the decision to drop the case against Brian Wright, a Co Monaghan farmer, after Humphreys, then minister for business, had a staff member deliver a letter to Brendan Gleeson, the department’s secretary-general.

Internal departmental records show the prosecution was proceeding as normal until a member of Humphreys’s staff passed the correspondence delivered to her by Wright’s associate to Gleeson’s office on January 25, triggering a review days later on January 28.”

Absolutely disgraceful from Heather Humphrey’s, this person is not fit to be president of the country.

Humphries going after the coveted anti-animal and anti-disabled people vote I see.

Well she opposed the fox hunting ban, and hare coursing, disregarded appeals to ban blood sports. So she has form.

Are we saying these people are pro animal cruelty as well as pro human cruelty?

I think we need to see the letter. Whether right or wrong, the content that triggered the review needs to be in the open.

    6. Not that I would ever vote for those West brit, landlord class, fg wankers, but anyone who disregards animal cruelty in any way shape or form is a piece of shit in my view. But that only proves what I already thought about her.
