      Maybe if the government and police allowed security to do their job, half of these precautions wouldn’t be necessary

      ? This is news? I know phone shops that have been doing this as long as I can remember, 20+ years, jewelers have also done this forever… 

    3. My local Ryman’s store of all place has a locked door policy going on with a one in one out policy. The rest of the customers had to stand outside in line waiting for their turn.

      It was like standing in line outside an Apple store.

      This isn’t just people grabbing display phones and running, these are groups with masks going in and threatening staff into handing over stock. One or two isolated robberies like that in one or two stores could be a LOT of phones, enough to create the “967% increase” if the number was low before.
