They need to put an authentic communicator in charge, I was skeptical of a “show don’t tell” strategy but now they’ve failed at the show part they at least need someone who can compete with Farage on the comms side.

Headline should really be “Senior Labour figures who want his job”. Andy Burnham makes no secret of the fact he wants to return to Westminster as an MP and has been touted by many as a challenger for the leadership. Thornberry was left on the back benches despite being shadow Attorney General and has been in a massive huff ever since.
The unions are having a fit of the vapours over a possible watering down of the workers rights bill and everyone is “warning” Starmer you would think a senior role in the party is coming up for election.

The left is a car crash. Its not good for anyone. Most particularly the working class
That system failed years ago as Labour allowed unions to drive policy leading to reduced output, erosion of the manufacturing base and elimination of the so called heartlands.
The only way forward now is to protect wealth and ensure that taxation is maximised whilst not alienating an ever more mobile top 5%
Once you realise those individuals need protecting you’ll see that socialism is a failed philosophy

Literally all they had to do was out-compete the collossal fuck up which was the tories, by not being corrupt (thanks, Angela) not being tone deaf (thanks, OSA), knowing their audience (thanks, island of strangers) and commit no major faux pas. Instead, we got the return of the sausages.
What could we expect with this sausage in charge though, own goal and handing the UK on a platter to reform.
I cannot conscientiously vote Labour again, I know others who can’t too, including unionised working class lifelong labour voters. That’s how alienated people feel.

Nothing burger story with the Guardian jurno just fishing some quotes from friendly sources. Labour have two things they need to make happen in the next 3 years, sustained growth, regular low immigration figures. Other than that avoid a crisis in the health service, not have a major surge in crime and hope to god there is no big terror attack.
Had they been posting 2.5% growth the “mistakes” would be quickly forgotten. If they dont get decent growth numbers then a blemish free record from now to the election wont help them.

Impossible, he’s one giant mistake, strutting about in a suit Lord Ali bought him.

I’m more and more convinced that none of the political parties actually give a shit about the country. All they care about is the outward appearance other see us and perception of other countries. Not the actual issue happening in this country

Nobody makes mistakes on purpose, that why they’re mistakes

1) stop being a dickhead over benefits. 2) tax billionaires 3) deport immigrants who have committed crimes. 4) sort cost of rent and mortgages 5) stop unnecessery government borrowing 6) focus on controlling inflation 7) stop gifting money to other countries – there are reasons why people are angry and why they cannot afford children

Wow. This nicolabot moderates so many comments I imagine they must be burying comments like 20 pound notes in an SNP garden

Starmer would be a good foreign secretary. He’s out of his depth when it comes to domestic matters.

They lowered the vote age to 16 and then banned porn for these same teenagers/young adults/whatever you call them like a month later.
You couldn’t try harder to give Farage a free win if you tried.
