      Being a pupil barrister is a very vulnerable thing – even a new junior is very much at the whim of more senior barristers because you need to practice from a chambers for three years. Pupils are in a far worse position. Good chambers have severe pupillage committees that police that sort of thing – I was lucky enough to have that when I was a pupil.

      Even as a full practising barrister, you still had to put up with unwanted touching by solicitors sometimes because they knew they could get away with it.
