Ciao a tutti. Sono un americano che viene da norvegese/scandinavo decente da entrambi i lati della mia famiglia e voglio farmi un tatuaggio in relazione alla cultura. Ho voluto ottenere il "Indicatore stradale," Una bussola nordica che mi è stata detto simboleggia la guida e la direzione. Ma mi è stato anche detto che è un simbolo molto più moderno che non è legato alla cultura dei tempi più anziani. Speravo di trovare ulteriori informazioni al riguardo.

I’ve never seen that outside of someone trying to be edgy. It looks way to modern to have any Viking attachment and I would expect it was made up fairly recently. Probably after “having been found in an ancient monastery” or some crap.
And that looks closer to Icelandic imagery, which isn’t even part of Scandinavia.

This reads “wannabe modern Viking” more than “proud of my real Nordic heritage” to me, OP.
Its from Iceland, not Norway. Its a 19th century design.
