But we already have it. We already have countries that are members of EFTA, which puts them in the same free trade zone, as the EU countries. We already have countries that are members of EU, but not of Eurozone. We also have countries with EU Association Agreement.
So what Orban describes is not some new quality of EU. It is just his own wishful thinking that Hungary could viably still benefit from the trade union, but oficially become an autocracy ruled by him.

Collapse the EU and then immediately re-form it based on qualified majority voting but don’t invite Hungary and Slovakia.

Only joined in 2004, and is massive recipient of EU funds, yet somehow seems to think their role is to bully and harangue everyone else, ignore the membership rules, threaten to actively undermine policies that are trying to deal with a huge external military threat, and constantly threaten to destroy the EU from within…
All I’d say is the EU is a very easy going and tolerant bunch!

Surprised Putin has someone as incompetent as Orban on his payroll. He is embarrassing even on the best oft days. Must keep him around as a boot licker, but I doubt he would be very good at that either.

If the EU collapses, where is he going to steal the money from?. All those sweet sweet funds would dry up instantly. And the Chinese are much worse business partner than EU.
I’d imagine Orban will be arrested once the opposition gets in to office and manages to find the evidence of all his corruption.
To be honest, the attack against EU from all sides feels almost apocalyptic. We seem like the last bastion of freedom and normality in a wolrd drowning in the alt-right madness. We need to take decisive actions to stop this nonsense.
I kept telling for years that we need to stop giving platform to alt-right, to stop tolerating them, but ofc our leaders believed that this would be “undemocratic” – well look where it got us. We have an orange antichrist doing Heritage Foundation biddings and turning US into literal Gilead from Handmaid’s Tale (sans Handmaids themselves, however with a plan to turn brain dead and comatose women into incumbators – so not much better), we have China Russia Korea and India Square-of-Evil flexing their muscles on that conference of nightmares last week. Something must be done and must be done now.

We need to switch from veto to qualified majority. It’s been enough. It doesn’t work.Morons will always find a way to hold you back, and you’ll always have a judah ready to sell you out to your enemies.
Just make a 2/3 majority and that’s it. Or better yet, federalize and make a freakin’ elected executive.
