A perfect system@low cost per engagement against terror drones/weapons.
The Leo1 chassis as a platform is -we all know that- not a must have. 8×8 trucks are the cheaper and more mobile carrier for the revolver canon. Sure…a tank offers better protection and maneuverability in muddy environments, but that’s not always the challenge. RHEINMETAL said, it could produce up to 70 systems per year…but Ukraine needs more…I must admit.
In simple words it’s the german Gepard on steroids with todays technology.
While the Gepard was bound to the marder chassis the Skyranger System is highly modular. It can be placed on a leopard, boxer, lynx, stryker,… chassis or on ships, as a stationary solution (like protecting production facilities) or on different truck chassis.
