There may be one major risk for Ukraine – and this may have been russia’s intention: Poland will logically demand more air defense support from NATO allies. This may result in air defense systems that were earmarked for Ukraine, getting redirected to Poland.

Is it a stupid idea to build laser defensive weapons to shoot down drones?

That’s not a slight. There’s been an entire military academy set up where Ukrainian soldiers teach NATO soldiers how to use their own NATO equipment because, unlike the NATO countries, Ukraine has hundreds of hours of real-world experience in how that equipment actually works on the battlefield.
Don’t think of it as a one-way relationship. Us helping Ukraine has benefitted ourselves massively.

The headline makes it look like he’s mocking them. Really careless in a situation we are in.

This isn’t an insult, it’s a fact, Ukraininans have been dealing with this shit for years, they know how to predict drone strikes, how to target them, how to take them down.

The best move is to give Ukraine missiles and let it strike the drone production sites. Defense is good, but you can’t stop a maniac with a shield alone. You need a sword too. And a missile hitting production inside Russia would sober these maniacs up very quickly.
At the very least, it would show that Europe isn’t joking when it comes to its own security. Because it’s clear putin is literally mocking them right now.

Ukrainian warriors knowledge and battlefield experience is invaluable and should be gratefully accepted and internalized. This isn’t a dig or dis at Poland or nato, it’s genuine advice from a friend who’s been through it.
