>A delivery driver raped young girls and treated them as “sexual slaves”, a court has heard. Abdul Kadir repeatedly abused the girls on multiple occasions in the prayer room of his house.
>Swansea Crown Court heard the the sexual abuse has had a devastating impact on the children.
>Handing Kadir a 20-year sentence as an offender of particular concern, the judge said the defendant had caused the girls “unspeakable mental and physical harm” and said while the courts encounter such cases far too, often rarely do the facts reveal “such depths and depravity” as Kadir’s.
>Ian Wright, prosecuting, said the complainants in the case were both girls both aged under 13.
>The court heard both girls are now “in despair” they won’t fulfil their life goals of marriage and motherhood and are “petrified” that “due to their honour being taken” they will be forced into arranged marriages.
>Judge Geraint Walters told Kadir he had effectively used the young girls as “sexual slaves” after they had come to Wales without their mothers. He said: “The courts sadly encounter cases such as these far to often but I must confess, rarely do the facts reveal such depths and depravity, and unspeakable mental and physical harm”.
>He added that one of the most disturbing aspects of the case was that in some communities the victims of sexual abuse are effectively “outcasts” and in someway blamed for what happened, and are considered “of no use to anyone” – he described instilling such beliefs in children as “nothing short of wicked”.
>The judge said while Kadir “plainly presents a risk to all children” he had decided not to impose an extended sentence as a dangerous offender as the provisions of an offender of particular concern apply.
