I’m principally for *no* NATO nations buying *anything* from Russia, but way to lead by example, Fanta Menace.

And I’m sure he’ll implement that in two weeks, just you wait.

      >Trump ready to sanction Moscow

      .. when hell freezes over.

It’s just another excuse, and even if all countries involved met the conditions, he would just come up with another excuse.

      He will *never* sanction Moscow.

Trump says he will use this excuse until he finds another excuse to not sanction Russia.

Here’s the full text of his [Truth Social post](https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/115196697263809382) ~~(I found it on a youtube video and screenshotted it)~~:

      >A LETTER SENT BY PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP TO ALL NATO NATIONS AND, THE WORLD: “I am ready to do major Sanctions on Russia when all NATO Nations have agreed, and started, to do the same thing, and when all NATO Nations STOP BUYING OIL FROM RUSSIA. As you know, NATO’S commitment to WIN has been far less than 100%, and the purchase of Russian Oil, by some, has been shocking! It greatly weakens your negotiating position, and bargaining power, over Russia. Anyway, I am ready to “go” when you are. Just say when? I believe that this, plus NATO, as a group, placing 50% to 100% TARIFFS ON CHINA, to be fully withdrawn after the WAR with Russia and Ukraine is ended, will also be of great help in ENDING this deadly, but RIDICULOUS, WAR. China has a strong control, and even grip, over Russia, and these powerful Tariffs will break that grip. This is not TRUMP’S WAR (it would never have started if I was President!), it is Biden’s and Zelenskyy’s WAR. I am only here to help stop it, and save thousands of Russian and Ukrainian lives (7,118 lives lost last week, alone. CRAZY!). If NATO does as I say, the WAR will end quickly, and all of those lives will be saved! If not, you are just wasting my time, and the time, energy, and money of the United States. Thank you for your attention to this matter! DONALD J. TRUMP, PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.”

Note how he doesn’t attribute blame to Putin, but to Biden and Zelenskyy… if any further proof was needed…

    5. Such a clever grifter and con artist. Krasnov knows he can withhold his sanctions. Those cankles need to pop soon.

We have a saying in Greece, “Who doesnt want to knead the dough, keeps sifting the flour for 10 days on end.”. Noone trusts what this piece of shit says any more, he has no intention of sanctioning Russia.

That’s exactly what the United States wanted from Bush’s presidency, to steal the oil market in Europe away from Russia.

    9. Europe should leave NATO, create its own organization and kick the Americans out of European bases.
      They are of no use.

US imports of goods from Russia went from 1933.1 (February to July 2024) to 2655.7 M$ (February to July 2025), i.e. +37% ([source: census.gov](https://www.census.gov/foreign-trade/balance/c4621.html)). Trade imbalance is at 89% and should have led to unilateral taxes of 44% as per Krasnov’s formula from April. Russia, contrary to almost any other country, got 0%.

We should not buy oil from Russia, obviously, but while we are trying to reduce our imports from Russia, we should not overlook that the US are increasing them.

Good, then go talk to your fascist friends in Hungary and Slovakia.

This part. I’m not sure what I’m reading here. Does NATO tariff china right now? Isn’t that just the US doing that?
Why is the china tariffs a part of this war discussion? Why ON EARTH should Russia be welcomed into the global community again before making significant amends?

Since the US counts presidents as “two presidents” if they win non consecutively terms I think we can fairly argue that Trump is two of the worst turds the american electoral system has ever shat out.

    13. Which he knows will never happen. It’s just another gift to Putin.

On the one hand no he is not trustworthy, but on the other OBVIOUSLY Europe should not be buying oil from these assholes.

Why does Europe want the US to impose strong sanctions on Russian, when many European countries, such as Germany, are unwilling to stop sending massive payments to Russia for oil?

It seems like a contradiction. Or that Europe wants the US to take actions it is unwilling to take.

Actions matter more than words. And the many European countries have shown they’re unwilling to make the hard sacrifices needed – such as weaning themselves off Russian oil or investing in military capabilities – to counter Russia.

It isn’t like these needs are a surprise. Trump told the Germans during his first term why they needed to eliminate their dependency on Russian oil. The Germans laughed at him.

FWIW I think sanctions are vitally needed, but they’re pointless as long as the west keeps filling Russian coffers.
